BRIAN MAY REACHES FOR THE STARS

QUEEN guitarist BRIAN MAY is swapping his beloved guitar for the stars as he plans to write a book on ''the complete history of the universe''.

May who abandoned his astronomy PhD to join Queen in the mid-1970s is working with the astronomers SIR PATRICK MOORE and CHRIS LINTOTT on what he hopes will be an account of the universe from birth to death.

The musician had named the book BANG! THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE after the Big Bang which many believe the universe originated from.

Lintott says, "Brian is still an astronomer at heart. When the three of us meet for writing sessions he is the harshest judge of the science and the way we explain it He is very vigorous."
