A talent search is underway to find singers for an updated version of Latin boy band MENUDO.
The original Menudo sold more than 40 million records in the 1980s and early 1990s and produced several solo stars, including RICKY MARTIN.
Menudo Entertainment, which owns the merchandising and property rights to the group, wants to revive the popular group featuring young male singers.
Members of the bilingual quartet will be replaced when they turn 16 - or when their voice breaks.
A spokesperson tells the New York Daily News, "The new Menudo group will record a contemporary hip urban/Latin crossover sound in both English and Spanish."
Auditions will get underway on Saturday (10JUN06) in New York City.
