SONGWRITER BYNUM ARRESTED FOR GROWING POT

Songwriter HAL BYNUM and his wife JAN have been arrested in Nashville, Tennessee, and charged with growing marijuana inside their home.

Bynum, 71, who wrote country standard LUCILLE, has also been charged with possessing hallucinogenic mushrooms.

He and his wife were released on $73,500 (GBP40,830) bail after turning themselves in to authorities.

According to website CMT.com, police raided the couple's home last week (beg29MAY06) and confiscated 256 marijuana plants, harvested marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, growing lamps and other drug paraphernalia.
