Pop star GEORGE MICHAEL is thrilled he's been in the tabloids lately, because it's helping him promote his new single AN EASIER AFFAIR.
George Michael leaves his North London home. London, England - 07.05.06
The star was arrested for possessing marijuana earlier this year (06) and was also questioned by police after he was accused of hitting three vehicles while driving near his north London home.
He explains, "In all honestly it does me good. I take crap for a couple of weeks but it promotes my new single. I hate to say it but it's true."
The OUTSIDE singer insists most of what has been written about him in recent months is only "50 percent true", but added, "I don't want to do regular promotion, so it does me good."
Michael claims he is desperate to start his upcoming world tour, which kicks off in Manchester, England on 17 November (06).
Despite rumours that the show would not go ahead due to "personal traumas", Michael insists the tour - his first in 15 year - will take place.
He adds, "The tour is a good way of showing people that I'm not on my death bed."
