MACPHERSON AND HITCHCOX AN ITEM

Supermodel ELLE MACPHERSON and property tycoon JOHN HITCHCOX are officially an item following a long courtship.

The Australian beauty and Hitchcox - who is currently separated from his wife - moved quickly to quash rumours they were romantically involved last month (APR06), but they have now become comfortable enough with their love to go public.

Hitchcox says, "It started as a friendship and then we had a long courtship but now we are an item.

"We are taking it slowly and trying to be normal.

"We were originally introduced by a mutual friend years ago but it is only in the last months we have become close."

Macpherson, 42, split from French financier ARPAD BUSSON, who fathered her two sons - eight-year-old FLYNN and two-year-old CY - in July 2005.
