COLLINS SLAMS GOLD-DIGGERS

JOAN COLLINS has hit out a 'gold-diggers' who marry wealthy partners and divorce to cash in.

Despite her reputation as a serial bride, the five-times married actress insists she never cashed in from her marriages and has only been on the receiving end of "fortune hunters".

Collins claims she was forced to pay first husband, actor MAXWELL REED, when they split; was left with "a small basic sum" to raise her children with ANTHONY NEWLEY following their divorce and lost out again following her split from fifth husband PETER HOLM, and had to pay him $80,000 (GBP44,400).

Referring to a new British legal rulings that strengthens the rights of divorcing spouses, Collins says, "The only 'entitlements' we have are to the things we have worked for. Attempting to get rich on the back of a brief partnership is despicable behaviour.

"Too many women - and I'm sorry to say, it generally is the women who are to blame, still view a rich partner as a meal ticket for life."
