SIGEL LEAVES HOSPITAL
Rapper BEANIE SIGEL has left hospital in a wheelchair after being treated for gunshot wounds he suffered during an attempted robbery.
The 32-year-old - real name DWIGHT GRANT - was hit in the upper-right arm as he sat in his car at an intersection in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at around 7.10am.
According to police, Sigel was at the intersection of 22nd and Sigel streets when five black men approached him in two vehicles, one of which cops think was a dark Dodge Mirada with tinted windows.
After one of the men fired at Sigel - hitting him in the arm - the hip-hop star managed to speed away from his assailants and drove himself to the nearby University Of Pennsylvania hospital.
Sigel spent several hours at hospital before leaving at 11.40pm (EST) in a wheelchair, wearing a hospital gown and with a blanket over his head.
After getting into a car, the star lowered the window and said, "I got shot. I'm cool," before showing reporters a bandaged left shoulder and a sling holding his left arm.
Sigel's attorney FORTUNATO PERRI JR, says the shooting appears to have been "a random act of violence".
