Two letters written by JOHN LENNON are to be auctioned in London this week (25MAY06).
The letters, sent to the former BEATLE's ex-wife CYNTHIA and his cousin LEILA in 1975 and 1976 are expected to fetch $27,000 (GBP15,000) each when they go under the hammer at a Christie's on Thursday.
They discuss Lennon's split from Cynthia and his relationship with YOKO ONO. The short letter to Cynthia is signed "your famous ex-husband".
Other items on sale include a shirt worn by the guitarist while recording SHE LOVES YOU, which is expected to raise $22,000 (GBP12,000) and a rare copy of A HARD DAYS NIGHT signed by all four Beatles, which should fetch $27,000 (GBP15,000).
