HASSELHOFF'S SPAT OVER BIRTHDAY BASH

DAVID HASSELHOFF has hit back at claims that he is refusing to pay for his daughter's lavish 16th birthday party.

Hasselhoff and his estranged wife PAMELA BACH took time out from their bitter divorce battle to celebrate their oldest daughter TAYLOR ANN's birthday recently.

The couple reportedly paid $30,000 (GBP17,000) to rent out a private Hollywood club for the 5 May (06) event, as well as hiring a DJ, limo, food and "aura" reader for 60 friends.

Taylor Ann also received a lavish birthday gift - a white $70,000 (GBP39,000) Range Rover, even though she doesn't have her driving licence yet.

The pair reportedly began fighting the next day (06MAY06), over who was going to pay for the tab.

Sources tell US publication Globe, "David complained that he didn't have a good time and that he got tired of spending the evening trying to get the boys to invite the girls to dance.

"He told Pam the whole thing was her idea and she should foot the entire bill, even though they'd agreed earlier to split all costs concerning their two daughters."

Hasselhoff's representative has hit back, claiming there is no dispute and that they BAYWATCH star is splitting the cost of the birthday bash.
