MOORE HATES POP ASSOCIATIONS

MANDY MOORE was never happy as a teenage pop star, and always planned to show the world she had more to offer than contemporaries BRITNEY SPEARS and CHRISTINA AGUILERA.

When she started out, Moore was quickly branded with the likes of Spears, Aguilera and JESSICA SIMPSON - but she insists she has always had more talent.

Moore is now an established movie star, with new movie AMERICAN DREAMZ joining a growing list of credits.

She says, "When I was starting out it was Britney, Jessica, Christina and me. The four of us were mentioned in the same sentence - always. I thought one day you'll see we're not all the same pre-packaged vanilla Wonder Bread."
