SPEARS INVOLVED IN ANOTHER BABY BUNGLE

LATEST: Pop star BRITNEY SPEARS is embroiled in more parental controversy, after nearly dropping her baby as she was leaving a New York City hotel on Thursday (18MAY06).

The latest mishap occurred as the TOXIC singer emerged from the Ritz Carlton hotel, holding a drink in one hand and her baby in the other.

Spears tried to manoeuvre through a crowd of onlookers when she tripped suddenly, causing her son's head to snap backwards and sending his hat flying off.

The singer regained her balance and the baby didn't seem to suffer any serious injuries, according to website TMZ.com.

Immediately after the incident an agitated Spears said, "This is why I need a gun," seemingly referring to having to battle her way through the crowd.

The incident is the latest in a series of mishaps for Spears.

She caused concern earlier this week (15MAY06) when she was snapped driving her Mini Cooper convertible with her son in his car seat facing the wrong way.
