OASIS PLAN ONE YEAR HIATUS

OASIS are taking a year off music after their latest songs failed to match their usual high calibre.

The British rockers have shelved plans for an EP release this summer (06) because guitarist NOEL GALLAGHER is adamant the tracks - including the eagerly anticipated THE BOYS WITH THE BLUES, penned by brother LIAM - aren't good enough.

And the band insist a well-earned 12-month rest after their world tour is the only way to rejuvenate their spirits.

Gallagher says, "We had a couple of tracks left over from the last record and in our own heads we thought they were good enough to be released as an EP.

"We went back and listened to the tapes and we reckon we can get it better, so we're having the year off instead."
