KIDMAN ANNOUNCES ENGAGEMENT

Oscar-winning actress NICOLE KIDMAN is engaged to country music star KEITH URBAN.

The star hosted the 30th Anniversary gala for the United Nations organisation UNIFEM in New York City on Saturday (13MAY06), where she was accompanied by Urban.

Kidman confirmed the engagement to US publication People, admitting Urban was not just her boyfriend saying, "He's actually my fiance. "I wouldn't be bringing my boyfriend (to the event)."

The confirmation of the engagement ends months of speculation about the couple, who were first spotted together last July (05).

In November (05), Kidman was photographed wearing a ring on her wedding finger while walking arm-in-arm with Urban in Boston, Massachusetts.

The actress, who has been in New York's Hamptons region shooting an untitled film for director NOAH BAUMBACH, is a goodwill ambassador for UNIFEM, the United Nations Development Fund for Women.

Kidman was previously married to TOM CRUISE and the couple have two adopted children together, ISABELLA, 13 and CONNOR, 11.
