PHIL SPECTOR will have to battle his former assistant in court sooner than he hoped, after failing to delay two lawsuits involving ex-employee MICHELLE BLAINE until his murder trial was over.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge LEE SMALLEY EDMON ruled yesterday (12MAY06) that because the producer was first to file suit against MICHELLE BLAINE last September (05), he would have to deal with consequences of his legal actions.
The Wall Of Sound creator has accused Blaine of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from his accounts.
Blaine countersued in March (06), claiming Spector once asked her to find him a prostitute, invited her to join him and a prostitute in a hotel room, and sometimes appeared naked in front of her.
She also alleges that, after the 66-year-old Motown mogul was charged with murdering actress LANA CLARKSON, 40, at his home in 2003, he asked her to marry him on numerous occasions.
Blaine denies Spector's accusations of stealing, claiming he in fact paid her substantial amounts of cash to keep her from testifying against him in his murder trial, which has now been pushed back to January (07). He is currently free on $1 million (GBP590,000) bail.
