Sports fans in Los Angeles are fighting to have convicted paedophile GARY GLITTER's music removed from victory celebrations.
The troubled rocker's ROCK + ROLL PT 2 anthem has been adopted by sports teams across the US, but fans of baseball team the Los Angeles Dodgers and basketball's Los Angeles Lakers are keen to make a change.
Sickened by hearing the rousing anthem at the end of games, some fans have contacted the teams and local newspaper the Los Angeles Times in a bid to get Glitter's music banned from stadiums and arenas.
One fan says, "Gary Glitter was recently convicted of molesting underage girls in Vietnam and is currently serving a three-year jail sentence in Vietnam. It's entirely inappropriate that his music should be played as part of sporting celebrations.
"I can only imagine officials at the teams that continue to play his music are ignorant to exactly who is behind the anthem. I'm sure once they realise whose music they're playing, they will cease."
Glitter, who was convicted of child pornography offences in Britain in 1999 and classified as a sex offender, is appealing his latest jail sentence.
