MORTIMER TO SAVE GABRIELLE

EAST 17 singer TONY MORTIMER has leaped to the rescue of British pop star GABRIELLE, insisting he'll protect her from her mystery stalker.

The boy band star, who duetted with the soul singer on 1996 hit IF YOU EVER, wants Gabrielle to rejoin the group at their reunion concert on 30 May (06) and has vowed to be her security.

He says, "It's so sad to hear what's happened to Gabrielle. I had no idea she was going through such hell.

"I've had my manager and everyone possible trying to get in touch with her as we wanted to ask her to perform at our reunion gig this month.

"It would be brilliant to see her again with her glad rags on.

"I'll sort out security. Heck, I'll even pick her up from her house and wear a policeman's outfit if it helps her feel safe."
