GO-BETWEENS STAR MCLENNAN DEAD AT 48

Cult Aussie rocker GRANT McLENNAN has died in Brisbane, Australia. He was 48.

The GO-BETWEENS founder reportedly died in his sleep on Saturday (06MAY06). Details of his death were not available as WENN went to press.

McLennan formed the Go-Betweens with ROBERT FORSTER and the Australian group became critical darlings throughout the 1980s. After the group split in 1989, McLennan embarked on a solo career before reforming with Forster in 2000.

The group has been recording and touring ever since. McLennan's final show with the Go-Betweens was in January (06) at the Sydney Festival.

McLennan also performed with indie act JACK FROST.
