DOMINGO TRIUMPHS AT CLASSIC BRIT AWARDS

Opera star PLACIDO DOMINGO triumphed at the Classic Brit Awards in London last night (04MAY06), scooping two gongs.

The 65-year-old was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award and was jointly presented with the Critic's Prize for his contribution to the Royal Opera House's TRISTAN AND ISOLDE production.

Welsh star KATHERINE JENKINS won Album Of The Year for LIVING A DREAM, ANDREAS SCHOLL was named Singer Of The Year and trumpeter ALISON BALSOM took the Best British Classical Performer Of The Year Crown.
