JACKSON REOPENS NEVERLAND

LATEST: Pop superstar MICHAEL JACKSON has reopened his Neverland Ranch - only a month after closing the California residence.

The THRILLER singer was ordered to shut down the 2,800-acre (1,130-hectare) estate by local authorities in March (09MAR06) after he fell behind in paying his employees' salaries and their insurance policies.

Jackson's 49 workers at the ranch - which includes a theme park and zoo - complained they hadn't been paid since 19 December (05).

The singer has been living in Bahrain since he was acquitted in his child molestation trial last June (05).

The New York Post reports Jackson has hired 10 members of staff through a local agency to care for the zoo animals after paying $49,000 (GBP28,000) in fines.
