RODRIGUEZ CHOOSES JAIL TIME

LATEST: LOST star MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ has chosen to serve five days in a Hawaii jail over a community service stint after pleading guilty to drink driving yesterday (25APR06).

The actress was asked if she'd like 240 hours of community service or incarceration by a Honolulu, Oahu judge - and she chose a prison spell.

Rodriguez was given a day to put her affairs in order and she'll be taken into custody and transported to a women's prison on Hawaii today (26APR06).

She could face even more jail time if Los Angeles authorities decide she violated her probation for a 2004 DUI arrest.

Rodriguez faces a hearing on that next week (05MAY06), upon her release.

If found guilty, she could be sentenced to serve more than 16 months in jail.

Rodriguez was arrested in December (05) when Hawaii police officers spotted her weaving along an island freeway. The actress originally insisted she was not guilty when she appeared in court in January (06).
