MESSINA HOBBLES AROUND MARATHON COURSE

Country star JO DEE MESSINA is celebrating after completing the Boston, Massachusetts Marathon with a knee injury.

The flame-haired singer crossed the finishing line on Monday (17APR06) with a time of five hours, 47 minutes - an hour longer than she set herself.

Messina admits an unexpected knee injury slowed her down: "I don't know what happened... but I spent a good deal of time in the first aid tents trying to get them to patch me up enough to get to the next first aid tent."

And the singer is determined to keep running until she hits her four hours, 40 minutes target: "I'm going to do more marathons. I'm determined to get that 4:40 time."
