PARKINSON'S DISEASE MAKES FOX RETHINK HIS ACTING SKILLS

BACK TO THE FUTURE star MICHAEL J FOX is convinced his Parkinson's Disease has made him a better actor because his performances are simpler.

The movie star admits he can no longer count on his acting studies when he's shooting lengthy TV shows, so he has to find simpler ways of delivering dialogue and getting through scenes.

His biggest problem comes when directors insist on shooting several angles of the same shot - because Fox never knows if his condition will allow him to repeat the same action.

He explains, "We shoot a master and then we'll shoot a close-up and then we'll shoot the two-shot, or whatever, so actually what you're seeing is not happening at once, it's a series of separate events that are edited together.

"It, in a way, makes me a better actor because it makes me simpler."

Fox uses a metaphor to explain how he works through his condition, revealing he feels like a right handed painter who is forced to use left handed brush strokes.

He adds, "The metaphor about painting left handed and right handed is it's not what I choose to do but I'm still painting."
