LATEST: BUILT TO SPILL frontman DOUG MARTSCH vision has returned after surgery to repair a detached retina in his eye.
The rocker spent much of March (06) lying on a massage table, facing the floor in an effort to help delicate eye surgery set, and now he's thrilled to have his sight back - even though it will never be as good as it once was.
He tells website Billboard.com, "They put a gas bubble in my eye to hold the retina in place. For the first three weeks, I had to have my face parallel to the ground all the time. I slept on a massage table.
"Then, after that, there were three weeks where I couldn't really see out of the eye."
Built To Spill were forced to cancel live dates to allow Martsh time to heal. The concerts are to be rescheduled this summer (06).
