JACKSON FIGHTS BACK IN CUSTODY BATTLE

LATEST: MICHAEL JACKSON has entered the battle for custody of his children after filing a petition against his ex-wife DEBBIE ROWE.

The reclusive pop superstar filed a Petition For Review with the California State Supreme Court on Friday (07APR06), asking officials to review an earlier decision that helps clear the way for Rowe to argue for custody rights to the couple's kids, PRINCE MICHAEL and PARIS.

Rowe came one step closer to seeing the children she conceived with Jackson in February (06) after a California appellate court ruled she could challenge a binding agreement she made with Jackson.

Rowe gave up parental rights to her children in 2001, but recently began trying to have those rights returned to her following concerns about her ex-husband's links to the Nation Of Islam.

A California Family Law Court will determine what Rowe's rights are now.

Rowe and Jackson were married from 1996 to 2000.
