WILL YOUNG: 'I'LL QUIT POP IN TWO YEARS'

British singer WILL YOUNG plans to ditch his pop music career in a couple of years and try his hand at trades including documentary film-making.

The EVERGREEN star, who recently appeared opposite DAME JUDI DENCH in movie MRS HENDERSON PRESENTS, is keen to leave pop music behind him.

He says, "I reckon I've got two more years of being a pop star then I'd like to be recognised for something else.

"The pop star thing is cool but it's a business, which does get frustrating.

"I've got a couple of shows that I'm creating. One's a stage show - sort of political, satire-ish cabaret, funny-odd thing. I want it to be some sort of slant on modern politics. I might take one issue and have that running through it. I'd write it and then star in it.

"I also came up with a kids' show idea and I'm doing a pilot for a documentary. I'm not going to tell you what they're about though, because they'll probably all fail.

"Slowly, I'll phase out music and become a svengali in the documentary world."
