YOUNG UNDER FIRE FROM BLUE PETER PRESENTERS

British singer WILL YOUNG's latest pop video has landed him in hot water - as it features presenters from long-running kids show BLUE PETER without their permission.

The video for WHO AM I? uses computer wizardry to show Young starring alongside 1960s hosts including VALERIE SINGLETON, PETER PURVES and JOHN NOAKES in classic scenes from the British series.

But the former presenters were only sent a copy of the promo after it had been broadcast and they are fighting record company Sony BMG for royalties, according to British newspaper The Star.

Singleton says, "It would have been nice if they'd have asked me and the other presenters shown if they could use footage of us.

"Maybe a royalty or two would be nice too."

A pal of fellow presenters Purves and Noakes adds, "I'm sure they would have given their permission if they had been asked.

"But they are a little put out that they only heard about it when it had already been finished.

"They feel it is a bit of a liberty and are ready to launch a bid to get some cash out of it."
