TEN YEARS AFTER ROCK ON IN THE US

Ageing rockers TEN YEARS AFTER are planning to conquer America again after reforming without frontman ALVIN LEE.

Drummer RIC LEE, keyboard player CHICK CHURCHILL and bassist LEO LYONS recruited 28-year-old vocalist JOE GOOCH for tour dates in late 2002, and after performing showcase concerts on America's east coast last month (MAR06), Lee and company are planning a full-scale US tour.

The drummer says, "We sold out BB KING's club in New York and so now we're planning more dates in August (06) and festival stuff in Arizona, Texas, and Washington State in September (06)."

Alvin Lee announced the end of the British band in 1974 after a string of US hits, and released a farewell album, but the group played on until 1980 and reformed briefly for a German and US tour in 1989.

Another reunion of sorts took place in 1998 when the rockers performed at the A Day In The Garden Woodstock anniversary concert as TEN YEARS LATER.
