British actress EMILY MORTIMER was mortified when her PINK PANTHER co-star STEVE MARTIN told her to tone down her sexual whimpering in a scene from the recent remake.
The MATCH POINT star was eager to work with funnyman Martin, but was horrified when her over-enthusiastic portrayal of the character was highlighted.
She says, "No (I had) never (done slapstick before) - and I was really scared, but I did realise as I was doing it that I was more suited to it than I expected.
"We filmed my first scene with Steve - where I have my legs wrapped around him - about 30 seconds after we met, so that was an ice-breaker.
"It ends up with me against the wall with his face in my crotch.
"I remember looking at it afterwards and he said, 'I think you should try to make the noises sound much less sexual.' It was mortifying."
