JONES AND WIFE WON'T RING IN 50TH

SIR TOM JONES will mark his upcoming 50th wedding anniversary with a small, modest celebration because his wife LINDA WOODWARD hates lavish parties.

The DELILAH hitmaker has refrained from entertaining fellow musicians at a huge bash out of respect for his shy wife's wishes.

He says, "It's a landmark, but my wife is very low-key so I don't think she wants to stand up and scream about it.

"My wife doesn't like showbiz parties - she's too nervous for it. I have acquaintances in the business but not close celebrity friends. I'm never in the same place long enough as I travel so much. I only got friendly with ELVIS and FRANK SINATRA because we were in Las Vegas at the same time.

"My wife is very private so I don't want to bring people to the house when she doesn't want that."
