MORRISSEY MOVED AFTER HOUSE ADDRESS BECAME KNOWN

MORRISSEY was forced to give up his dream home in Los Angeles because too many fans learned of his whereabouts.

The former THE SMITHS singer quit England for California many years ago and quickly became a cult hero for Los Angelenos, who would join armies of British fans in calling for him after his address went public on fan websites.

Now living and recording in Rome, Italy, Morrissey says, "It was very difficult with the house, because there was a constant stream of callers.

"It's not terribly pleasant because I'm very private."

Meanwhile, Morrissey is crediting his new home with helping him stay in the best shape.

He explains, "The preoccupation with style is so great. You have this constant feast of people who are trying to do their best with their bodies, and it shows.

"It keeps you on your toes. You can't go around looking like a big fat slob... because you will be noticed."
