Rock 'n' roll legend ELVIS PRESLEY's Memphis, Tennessee, mansion Graceland is set to be designated a US National Historic Landmark.
Secretary of the Interior GALE NORTON will meet with Presley's ex-wife PRISCILLA later today (27MAR06) to officially make the announcement at The King's former home.
Although Graceland has been on America's National Register of Historic Places since 1991, the designation as a National Historic Landmark upgrades it to a status enjoyed by less than 2,500 historic sites in the US, including the White House, Pearl Harbor and the Alamo.
The Sun Records studio in Memphis - the site of Presley's first recording sessions - was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2003.
