SIR PAUL McCARTNEY's former right-hand man has revealed he was sacked by the legendary musician because of his drug addiction.
GEOFF BAKER, who accompanied the former BEATLE on four world tours over his 15 year employment, was fired in late 2004 after his cocaine binges got out of control.
Speaking for the first time since the spilt, Baker, who admitted selling personal gifts from McCartney to fuel his illegal habit, has now thanked the YESTERDAY hitmaker for saving his life.
Baker says, "I deserved to be fired. I was reckless, risk-taking and maverick.
"Paul was more concerned about my mental health than I was at the time.
"Had I continued in that '60s rock 'n' roll spirit I could have quite easily have pegged out. Paul firing me kept me alive."
