BLUES STAR KING FLOYD DIES

American singer/songwriter KING FLOYD III has died of complications from a stroke and diabetes. He was 61.

The veteran New Orleans star, who passed away on 6 March (06), is famed for his 1970s hit GROOVE ME, which grabbed the top spot on the R+B chart in America, while entering the Top 10 of the singles chart.

Floyd also collaborated with producer HAROLD BATTISTE, who produced his debut album A MAN IN LOVE.
