The 68-year-old will be in charge of an adaptation of DAVID IGNATIUS' espionage thriller PENETRATION, about a CIA spy sent to Jordan to uncover a terrorist boss.
He follows the lead of Greengrass, whose controversial FLIGHT 93 centres on the hijacked 9/11 plane which missed its target, and Stone's graphic depiction of the infamous day, currently shooting under the working title of WORLD TRADE CENTER.
Scott, whose resume includes science fiction hit BLADE RUNNER and Roman epic GLADIATOR, is currently filming A YEAR IN PROVENCE adapted from author PETER MAYLE's novel.
