New 007 superspy DANIEL CRAIG has been endorsed by his director on the set of latest JAMES BOND offering CASINO ROYALE.

The blonde Brit, who has been branded a poor casting choice by some Bond fans, was hailed by his screen boss MARTIN CAMPBELL as "the best ever".
Movie-maker Campbell defended the maligned star, insisting he gives a far more emotive performance than suave predecessor PIERCE BROSNAN ever could, and isn't afraid of doing his own stunts.
He said, "I am convinced that Craig is the best actor who has ever played James Bond.
"We show that Bond will suffer from emotional and physical pain. Honestly, we couldn't do that with Pierce."
