STEWART IN CASINO NEGOTIATIONS

LATEST: ROD STEWART has confirmed he is in negotiations to take up a Las Vegas singing residency, following in the footsteps of CELINE DION and SIR TOM JONES.

The MAGGIE MAY hitmaker, 61, is in the gambling capital on the advice of his friend SIR ELTON JOHN, who has also boasted a permanent slot in the city.

Stewart will perform at the MGM Grand in April (06) and has reportedly been told he can name his price for either a one or three-year performance schedule.

The singer confirms, "It's something I'd love to do.

"I've come to see my old pal, Elton, and also to indulge in the odd negotiation."
