WELLER: 'DAD KEPT THE JAM TOGETHER'

PAUL WELLER has praised his father-turned-manager for keeping THE JAM together in their darkest times.

JOHN WELLER always supported his son's rock 'n' roll dreams despite struggling financially early on.

And the paternal music mogul was the one who kept the punk rockers' spirits up when things weren't going their way.

Paul says, "He was the force behind the band. Apart from being behind the family, he was totally behind The Jam.

"There were loads of times before we made it when he said, 'C'mon, next week, you wait.'

"He was the optimistic one and it was him that kept us all together."
