MISCHA BARTON SINGLE CLAIMS
Mischa Barton has reportedly split from lover Cisco Adler.
The pair - who had been dating for six months - called time on their romance after an argument at the Beverly Hills hotel, in Los Angeles.
Friends say the beautiful 'The O.C.' actress and Whitestarr frontman have found it difficult to stay together because of the intense interest in their romance.
They split after a tiring week of pre-Oscar commitments and parties - and Mischa has now reportedly turned to 'Brokeback Mountain' star Jake Gyllenhaal for comfort.
A source is quoted in Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "Mischa had enjoyed a great weekend with Cisco at lost of pre-Oscars parties. At the time she looked like a love-sick puppy but Cisco looked uncomfortable.
"A few days later they were having coffee at the Beverly Hills Hotel when Cisco suddenly skulked off - and Mischa looked gutted.
"When Cisco didn't come back, she made arrangements to meet Jake."
Mischa was first linked with Jake after swapping numbers with him at last month's Bafta awards, in London.
It has been claimed the brunette beauty is smitten with the handsome actor and hopes to star in a film with him in the near future.
The source added: "Mischa hopes to work with Jake one day."
