LANCASTER'S CANCER SCARE

ROD STEWART's fiancee PENNY LANCASTER suffered a cancer scare 12 years ago that left her fearing she would never have children.

The blonde photographer, who gave birth to Stewart's seventh child ALASTAIR WALLACE in November (05), underwent surgery to remove pre-cancerous cells when she was just 22.

And she urges women across the world to take care of their health.

She says, "I had a cancer scare about 12 years ago.

"During the op, they found a cyst on a fallopian tube and a cyst on my ovary. I also had pre-cancerous cells on my cervix.

"Alastair is a gift. I owe it to him to take care of myself. Early detection is the first defence against cancer. If you won't do it for yourself, do it for your children.
