DOHERTY CHARGED WITH DRUG POSSESSION

LATEST: Troubled British rocker PETE DOHERTY has been charged with possession of heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis.

A London police spokesperson has confirmed the BABYSHAMBLES frontman, 26, has been charged with seven counts of drug possession following two arrests in December (05) and January (06).

Doherty, ex-boyfriend of supermodel KATE MOSS, will appear at Thames Magistrates' Court in London on Thursday (09MAR06).

The charges relate to his arrests on 18 December (05), when he was pulled over by London police on suspicion of possessing heroin and on 14 January (06), when he was caught driving under the influence and alleged possession of hard drugs.

Last month (27FEB06) he was arrested on suspicion of stealing a car and possessing hard drugs, only weeks after he was sentenced to a 12-month community order (08FEB06).

During his February court date, judge ANN McLAUGHLIN warned the singer he could face jail time if he broke his order.
