SHARON OSBOURNE TO HOST UK CHAT SHOW

Rock matriarch SHARON OSBOURNE has signed a $3.6 million (GBP2 million) deal to front a new British chat show.

The wife of BLACK SABBATH rocker OZZY will take over ITV1's 5pm slot later this year (06) - making her one of the highest-paid stars on TV following her lucrative contract to judge talent contest THE X FACTOR.

An ITV insider says, "The signing is an amazing coup for ITV. The public love Sharon.

"She's bold, bubbly, honest and genuine. She'll be perfect."

The reality TV star, famed for family show THE OSBOURNES, had her US chat show, THE SHARON OSBOURNE SHOW, axed less than five months after its launch due to low audience ratings.
