WEST EXTENDS CONDOLENCES TO GIG SHOOTING VICTIMS

LATEST: Rapper KANYE WEST has passed on his best wishes to two stewards shot at his concert in Birmingham, England on Tuesday (28FEB06) night.

The officials were shot by gatecrashers, who had just been escorted from the arena after being discovered without a ticket for the hip-hop show.

West says, "My thoughts and prayers are with them."

Two people, a 21-year-old man and 20-year-old woman, have been arrested in connection with the shooting at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre.

The attackers had been escorted from the GOLD DIGGER hitmaker's concert after being discovered without a ticket for the show.

One of the victims was shot in the face, stomach and foot, and is still in a serious condition in hospital. The other was released following treatment for a graze.

Despite the arrests, police maintain they are still on the lookout for the prime suspect who they describe as a tall, slim black male, aged 18 to 22, with a thin moustache and plaits in his hair down to the middle of his neck.
