MATLOCK SLAMS 'MONEY-MAKING' HALL OF FAME

LATEST: The SEX PISTOLS bassist GLEN MATLOCK has spoken out over the band's rebellious boycott of America's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony next month (MAR06), declaring the event a "money-making opportunity for multi-million shysters".

The punk legends refuse to turn up to witness their induction, having posted a handwritten statement, filled with spelling mistakes, on their website declaring, "We're not coming. We're not your monkeys."

Matlock, who was initially thrilled with the prestigious honour, reversed his decision after discovering tables at the event cost $25,500 (GBP15,000) each.

He blasts, "It's nothing to do with the bands - it's all to do with the business.

"When I first heard about it I was quite excited, but then I found I was going to have to pay thousands of pounds to take my kids.

"It's just a big corporate event, a bunch of Herberts in suits, just a money-making opportunity for multi-million shysters."

Attending acts BLONDIE and BLACK SABBATH will also be inducted into the Hall Of Fame at the bash held in Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City on 13 March (06).
