MURPHY'S EX DRAGS UP THE COMIC'S SEEDY PAST

EDDIE MURPHY's estranged wife NICOLE MITCHELL dredges up the past in a new interview about the break-up of her marriage, insisting she still doesn't know the truth about his transvestite shame.

The funnyman was arrested in 1997 after picking up the transvestite in Hollywood.

Nicole tells Essence magazine, "He told me there was this person on the corner crying, so he stopped to help.

"But I'm thinking, 'Well, why the hell did you let them get in the car.'"
