Three paparazzi who photographed DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES and DODI FAYED on the night of their death (31AUG97) were ordered to pay damages of one euro ($1.20/GBP0.68) by a French court yesterday (22FEB06).
The case against JACQUES LANGEVIN, CHRISTIAN MARTINEZ and FABRICE CHASSERY was reopened by Dodi's father MOHAMED AL FAYED in the Paris Appeal Court last year (05) - despite two previous hearings ruling the photographers were merely doing their job.
Langevin, Martinez and Chassery will each have to pay the small sum to the owner of famous London department store Harrods, as well as 6,000 euros ($7,200/GBP4,200) to cover the cost of publishing the result of the court case in three French newspapers.
In an upcoming interview to be broadcast by American TV network CBS, Al Fayed again places the blame for the fatal 1997 crash which killed his son on the British royal family and secret service.
