CHAN BUYS LUCKY NUMBER PLATE

Hong Kong star JACKIE CHAN successfully bid HK$1.5 million ($192,000/GBP106,000) for a lucky car license plate at an auction last week (ends17FEB06).

The RUSH HOUR actor bought plate number 123, because of the link to the birthdays of his wife and son.

Chan's wife LIN FENG-JAO was born on 23 January, while his son JAYCEE CHAN was born on 3 December.

Chan enthuses, "When I saw the license plate... I really liked it, so I wanted to win it at the auction."
