RAPPER KANO BLASTS POLICE 'VICTIMISATION'

UK rapper KANO has blasted police for forcing him to spend a staggering $12,600 (GBP7,000) on extra security at a London gig, claiming he is being victimised.

The TYPICAL ME hitmaker, nominated for Best Urban Act at next week's Brit Awards (15FEB06), had already been forced to reschedule the gig after the planned October 2005 concert was cancelled over police fears of gang violence.

But the rapper is adamant the extra security on Saturday (04FEB06) was counter-productive, and has slammed London officers for unfair treatment.

A friend tells British newspaper The Sun, "Kano feels this wouldn't happen to THE STREETS or COLDPLAY.

"It means he's lost money on the night.

"He feels all that security makes people feel jumpier rather than safer."
