BETTANY'S BLEACHING NIGHTMARE
A BEAUTIFUL MIND star PAUL BETTANY was in agony while filming THE DA VINCI CODE when the bleach stylists used to dye his hair burned holes in his scalp.
The actor, who plays SILAS THE ALBINO in the film, had to go through an intense colour-stripping process to get his hair as white as possible.
Bettany recalls, "They bleached my hair and I tried to be butch about it, but it was simply the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life.
"They had to get it really white and when they took the bleach off, there were just huge holes in my head. It was not a good look."
And the star grew even more upset when he found out the painful process could have been avoided with a simple hair piece.
He adds, "I said 'Couldn't I conceivably wear a white wig?' And they're like, 'Yeah, of course!"
