SIR BOB GELDOF attacked Arab nations for not donating more money to ease poverty in Africa, at a Dubai conference on Friday (16DEC05).
The Live 8 organiser accused the Middle East region of ignoring global fundraising efforts, and doing "very little" to help alleviate poverty in the developing world.
He said, "I am here today to encourage the business, humanitarian and the arts sectors to do a little more for that continent that lies less than 150 miles from where we now stand.
"We cannot leave Africa suspended and outside the economic net of the planet."
He added that if Dubai hopes to blossom into a multi-cultural, model economy, it must start shouldering the responsibility to the world's less fortunate.
