Chinese director Zhang Yimou gave his blood over five months time to make money for his first camera. Zhang was poor so he dropped out of school when he was fifteen years old and worked hard to save for film school. Mr. Yimou didn’t get into Top film school in China until he was 27 years old. Through all his struggles Zhang has made himself one of the top Chinese film directors in the world. Films he has directed “Hero”, “Flying Daggers” and “To Live”. His most recent film is in the box office “Memoirs of a Geisha”.
